For the American football cake, first prepare the fondant cream. For the fondant cream, pour boiling cream over the chocolate, let stand briefly and then stir gently. Let cool and mix butter with powdered sugar and fold in.

If it is too soft just let it cool a bit. For the football bake 2 baking sheets of the cake and let cool.

Place them on top of each other (preferably with some fondant cream and/or fruit in between) and cut the approximate shape of the football with a knife.

Make sure that the football is oval, even in 3D! Then cover with the fondant cream and roll out the brown fondant. Carefully place over the football and cut off at the edge.

Then cut 2 long, thick, 1 medium-length, narrow and 4 short, narrow ribbons from the white fondant and place them on the football as above.

Preparation Tip:

The fondant should be neither too soft nor too cold, otherwise it will be difficult to work with. For the American football cake you can use any sponge. Here, a simple chocolate mass was chosen.
