The wine spiced pears first boil all the ingredients for the syrup.

Peel the pears, but leave them whole. Place them in the syrup and bring to the boil again. Simmer for 5 minutes, then refrigerate for several hours (preferably overnight).

The next day, first carefully remove the pears from the syrup. Bring the syrup to a boil, add the pears back in and simmer briefly to warm them.

Remove the spices from the syrup.

Let the wine-spiced pears cool a bit before serving. Spread on plates and drizzle with a little syrup.

Preparation Tip:

The wine spiced pears go especially well with vanilla ice cream. They can also be served with chocolate cake.
