For the bread dumplings cut the white bread into small cubes.

Soak the white bread with the hot milk and the butter dissolved in it, press it with a lid and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Add the eggs, a good pinch of nutmeg and the finely chopped parsley and mix well. Chop the onions, brown them in butter and add them to the dough. Let the dough stand for about 10 minutes.

Form dumplings and put them into boiling salted water. Cook the dumplings at low temperature for about 20 minutes. They are ready when they can be cut with a fork.
