Instructions:

Soak lentils in water overnight and cook until soft the next day.

For the roux, melt the lard, add the flour, toast lightly while stirring and then let cool.

Mix the ready roux with the lentils and salt, add the vinegar, crush the garlic and mix it in. Finally, add pepper, thyme and savory.

For the bacon cubes, melt the lard in a pan, peel and chop the onion, add and sauté until translucent.

Then mix in the bacon cubes and roast until done. Mix the roasted bacon cubes with the lentils.

For the bread dumplings, mix the bread cubes well with the ingredients, let stand for half an hour, stirring frequently.

Salt water in a pot and bring to boil. Form 5-6 pieces of dumplings, put them into the boiling water and simmer for about 20 minutes.
