To make the bean and ricotta pâté, blend the drained beans, ricotta, garlic, lemon juice and butter in a food processor or with a blender until well blended. Season the pâté with salt and pepper and place in a small greased round baking dish. Cover the top with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.
Before serving, you can turn the bean and ricotta pâté out onto a plate.
