For the cherry muffins, drain the cherries well in a sieve. Coarsely chop the chocolate. Cream together softened butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Fold in the eggs one at a time.
Combine flour, cornstarch and baking powder, sift into the mixture and fold in briefly. Fold in cherries and chocolate.
Bake in a greased, floured muffin tray in a heated oven at 200 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
Let the muffins cool and decorate with chocolate and a cherry.
Preparation Tip:
The cherry muffins look very pretty if you decorate them with white chocolate icing. Instead of cherries you can also use sour cherries.
